A lot of ferry boats leave daily from the northen coasts of Sardinia connecting the port of Palau with the archipelago of Maddalena. The archipelago is formed by 7 isles taking their names from the big one, and characterized by the unique colour of the sea and marvellous beaches. During the sailing between Palau and the Maddalena you'll see the Fort of Santo Stefano. From here in 1793 Napoleon attacted the Maddalena. The boat excursions let you admire the extraordinary beauty of the archipelago, the famous pink sand beach of Budelli island (forbidden to public) the coasts of Razzoli and thin sand of Spargi island. The typical itinerary includes: the main beach of Palau, "la Sciumara", Porto Rafael and the Yachting Club, Punta Sardegna lighthouse, the isles of Spargi, Budelli (the pink sand beach), Santa Maria, Razzoli, the islet of Carpa, the island of Maddalena, the island of Santo Stefano, Caprera.
