Farm Holidays "L'Abba Maistra"
Who we are
The 50 ha. family run farm uses biological methods in
breeding and rearing to save nature at the best and to offer its guests
its genuine products.
APICULTURE
At the “stazzo” modern apiculture is practised and
sweet honey (lavender, asphodel, clover, mille fiori) and sour (arbutus)
is produced through bio-mechanical interventions to eliminate the use of
toxic substances.
CATTLE BREEDING
Cow “Charolais” breeding is in its nature state on
pasture of oats and vetch.
POULTRY BREEDING
Laying hens of “warren” breed scratch about free but
protected from migratory birds by an aviary. Poultry is bred with
natural feeding.
ORCHAD
Biological methods are used for all crops.
Where we are
L’Abba Maistra is situated 7 km from Arzachena, on
the Costa Smeralda.
From Olbia take the S.S. 125 Olbia-Arzachena-Palau,
pass Arzachena, at the fork to Bassacutena turn left, drive 5 km then
turn right to the road leading to the trapshooting and on up to a fork.
Turn right and continue for 800 mt, enter a gate and drive 700 mt inside
the estate.
The Rooms
The rooms are given the names of the animals living in the “stazzo” or
along the banks of the Liscia river: the room of the bees, of the
butterflies, of the tortoises, of the ducks, of the herons.
The 2/3 bedded rooms equipped with old furniture and typical “gallurese”
tapestry have all ante-bathroom, and bathroom, heating and
air-conditioning, safe-box, fridge- bar and hairdryer.

Archaeological Sites
Arzachena territory is rich in archaeological sites. The first you’ll
meet coming from Olbia is “Nuraghe Albucciu”. The building on
semi-rectangular base with curved corners leans against a granite rock,
which camouflages it and partially substitutes the enclosure walls. On
the other side of the road you’ll reach the “tempietto di Malchittu” a
nuragic building unique in Sardinia both for its shape and for the
place. Going on along the main road statale, you’ll get to Arzachena and
reach the “monti incappiddatu” well known for its mushroom shape.
Past Arzachena on the road to Bassacutena stands the “ tomba dei
giganti” (tomb of the Giants) of “Coddu Ecchiu” and farther on on the
same lane the “Nuraghe La Prisciona”. Another outstanding tomb of the
giants is “Li Lolghi” the most relevant among those of the region
Gallura. Last worth visiting is the necropolis “Necropoli de Li Muri”.

Accessibility to disabled
Each room is easily accessible through a fixed concrete ramp to the
verandah; all the spaces inside, ante-bathrooms and baths are accessible
to everybody.
Removable ramps to the breakfast room are used instead of concrete not
to spoil the architectonic line of the “stazzo”. For disabled there is a
drive for cars to get to the swimming pool besides the path between the
rocks and the Mediterranean bushes. Moreover a “roman stair” has been
particularly projected to facilitate the entrance to the swimming pool.
